W2R

Walling2Recovery (W2R)

Walling2Recovery (W2R) is a dry stone walling company focused on supporting the mental wellbeing and mindfulness of military and 'blue-light' veterans. We offer dry stone walling events in the Cotswolds that help with physical and mental recovery, as well as aid in the transition to civilian employment for military and blue-light veterans.

About W2R

Our History

Our History

Our History

Founded in 2024 by Andrew (Andy) Docherty; an Army Veteran and passionate dry stone waller.

Andy is a professional dry stone waller and is qualified as a DSWA LANTRA Level 2.

W2R is in its infancy but is gaining momentum and growing every day - be part of our success. We have successfully completed events @ The Gordon Messenger Centre Lympstone, on the Bathurst Estate in the Cotswolds, at the Field Studies Council centre near Keswick; plus in France and Spain.

We are working with two charities in order to extend the 'offer' from Spring 2025 -

  • GiveUsTime - focused on providing respite to veterans and their families
  • Field Studies Council - focused on environmental education, sustainability and diversity

Our Mission

Our History

Our History

To improve the lives of veterans

We offer dry stone walling events (1-7 days) for groups of 1-12 pax:

  • to support physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing
  • with a focus on military and blue-light veterans
  • to support a transition into civilian employment for military veterans; when space exists, this is open to all.
  • events are run in various parts of the UK (Cotswolds and Cumbria) as well as in Ruffec, France and Southern Spain
  • in 2026 we will expand our site locations to include North Wales & The Dordogne

Our team is made up of dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the world.

"Walling isn't therapy but it is therapeutic"
